Happy Birthday, America!
As we celebrate Independence Day this weekend with barbecues, beers, and brats, let’s not forget an important fact. Taking children to a Fourth of July parade or fireworks display increases the likelihood they will grow up Republican. ABC News reported a 2011 study by Harvard University that concluded this. The study found:
One Fourth of July without rain before age 18 increases the likelihood of identifying as a Republican at age 40 by 2 percent, the share of people voting for the Republican candidate at age 40 by 4 percent, and the share of people turning out to vote at age 40 by 0.9 percent.
It’s a a win-win situation. Enjoy a parade with the family, raise a future conservative. So get out there, America. Wave a flag. Fire off a few bottle rockets. Light a sparkler. You’ll be doing the future a favor. Enjoy!
